あのころのふたりの思い出がインスタのポストとこのまえみた映画のシーンと混ざり合っちゃって、かたちを変えて染みついちゃって。

フィードが流れるみたいに記憶も変わっていくから、私デジタルに影響されてるなってふしぎに思って、”untested thin” をディレクションしました。

思い出が色あせていろんなデジタルのイメージと溶け合って漂う感覚が、オンラインとオフラインの自分が混ざり合う感覚とどこか重なる気がするんだよね。

Floating between past memories, a constant flow of performative social media imagery in real time, and film scenes that evoke emotions from past offline memories, this sweetly nostalgic portrait story weaves a narrative of how memory is haunted by liquid fantasy in an image-saturated time. This also serves as a reminder of the richness of our generation’s personal narratives, developing personal intimacy from our interactions with others both online and offline, as we commute daily between these identities.

Like the film “Vertigo” by Alfred Hitchcock, this story deals with the theme of publicly perceived identity, private personal identity and how these two things often contradict and emulsify into each other as ghostly, fluid memories through the virtual and the real. Melancholically overlapping with ephemeral lights from convenience store and fading neon colours light in nostalgic Japanese Showa Era home, it captures the realms between daydreaming and reality with the act of passing time.

実験的なポートレート・プロジェクト「untested thin」は、デジタル時代における親密な記憶の変容を探求する。

過去の記憶、ソーシャルメディアを通してリアルタイムで流れ続けるイメージ、過去の感情を呼び起こす映画のシーンを浮遊しながら、この甘くノスタルジックなポートレートストーリーは、イメージで溢れた私たちの記憶の流動的で幻影のようなもろさを問いかける。オンラインとオフラインのアイデンティティを日々行き来しながら、他者と交流し、親密な関係を育む私たちの世代の個人的な経験の豊かさも紡ぎ出す。

ヒッチコックの『めまい』のように、公に認識されている社会的なアイデンティティと私的で個人的なアイデンティティ、この2つの矛盾が、バーチャルとリアルの間を行き来することで、亡霊のように彷徨い変容し、記憶として乳化し合う。コンビニの儚い灯りや、懐かしい日本の昭和の家と色あせたネオンがメランコリックに重なり合い、幻想と現実のあいだを、時の流れとともに漂う。
