Mia Sato O’Neal is an African-American and Japanese photographer and film director, currently based in Japan. Born in Tokyo, Mia spent much of her adolescence in Europe and California, where her multicultural background began to shape her artistic lens. Her work focuses on portraiture and fashion, capturing the authentic essence of women.

Her new project, Punk Princess, draws inspiration from a photograph by Japanese photographer Hiromix. This series merges the rebellious energy of punk with the delicate essence of a princess, exploring the repressed emotions. Mia’s current work seeks to blend authenticity with the complexity of identity and emotion.
