岩間有希（Yuuki Iwama）は、神奈川を拠点に活動するマルチディシプリナリー・アーティストです。彼女の独自のスタイルは、本能と人生の中にある偶然の出会いからインスピレーションを受けています。

今回のフォトシリーズでは、神奈川のアトリエを舞台に、彼女自身がモデルとして登場。スタイリングと作品を織り交ぜながら、小さな魔法のような世界が生み出されました。

晴れた日に撮影され、スタイリングはEli Lee、メイクはMoe Hikidaが担当。柔らかな色彩と遊び心あふれる作品に囲まれた岩間有希の姿から、アートと純粋なポジティブエネルギーに満ちた空間が広がります。

Yuuki Iwama is a multidisciplinary artist based in Kanagawa with a unique style inspired by her instincts and the serendipity of life. 

This photo series combines some of her artworks with styling and creating small realms of magic around her atelier in Kanagawa. 

Photographed on a sunny day, with styling by Eli Lee, and makeup by Moe Hikida, a space of art and pure positive energy was created with soft colors and the playful artworks by Yuuki.

自己紹介をお願いします。お名前は何ですか？どこにお住まいで、どんなお仕事をされていますか？

岩間有希(YUUKI IWAMA) 。神奈川県在住。 アーティストをやらせてもらってます。

さまざまな媒体を使って制作されていますが、プロジェクトごとに特定の媒体を選ぶ理由は何ですか？

媒体は、あらかじめプロジェクトごとに決めているわけではなく、その時々の自分の内側の流れや呼吸に耳を澄ませ、自然と導かれる表現方法を選択しています。

「このプロジェクトだからこの媒体」と決めるというより、その瞬間に寄り添い、最もしっくりくる手段が自然と作品になるような感覚です。

最近、試してみたいと思っている新しい媒体はありますか？

現在は、作品を自然のプロセスや質感に近づけることを意識しています。土や灰の延長として、鉱物や膠、蜜蝋をはじめ、樹脂や植物性の物質などさまざまな自然素材を用い、それぞれの質感や特性を生かしながら、新たな表現の可能性を模索しています。また、セラミック作品は、いつも通りメディテーションするように楽しみながら制作しています。

作品制作において刺激される時は？

自分を驚かしてくれる偶然の中にある感動を感じる時です。

アートはあなたにどのような影響を与えていますか？

現時点での私にとってアートは、自分という存在を超えた大きな豊かさと共に生きているような感覚を与えてくれるものです。

そのため、日常生活の中でも物事の見方や繊細な部分に深く感動することが増えました。私にとってアートは、他の分野においても「生きる感度」を高めてくれる存在だと感じています。

今後どう変わっていくかはまだわかりませんが、その変化もまた楽しみにしています。

Please introduce yourself; what is your name, where are you based, and what do you do?

As you work with a variety of mediums, what causes you to select specific mediums for specific projects?

I don’t predetermine the medium for each project. Rather, I listen closely to the inner flow and rhythm of the moment, and I allow myself to be guided toward the form of expression that feels most natural.

Instead of deciding, “this project requires this medium,” it feels more like being in tune with the present moment—where the means that resonate most deeply with me naturally become the work itself.

Are there any new mediums that you have been curious to try?

Currently, I am focusing on bringing my works closer to natural processes and textures. As an extension of earth and ash, I explore the use of various natural materials such as minerals, animal glue, beeswax, resins, and plant-based substances, seeking new possibilities of expression by drawing out their unique textures and characteristics. At the same time, I continue to create ceramic works in my usual way—enjoying the process as a form of meditation.

What motivates you to create?

I am moved to create when I encounter the kind of wonder that emerges from chance—moments that surprise and stir me.

How does art affect other areas of your life?

For me, art gives the sensation of living alongside a vast richness that extends beyond my own existence.

Because of this, even in daily life, I find myself more often touched by subtle details and by new ways of seeing things. Art heightens my sensitivity to life itself, influencing all areas of my experience.

I don’t yet know how this relationship with art will change in the future—but I look forward to those transformations as well.
